NOT INDIAN ENOUGH THEY SAY- MANNGAI NEMDAKLY

Not Indian enough they say,

Not acquainted with the land they say,

Eyes not big enough they say,

Nose not pointed enough to say,

Skin not brown enough they said.

I have traveled my lone road,

Miles I have conquered to be one,

One of them and one they are.

Do you eat snake? They ask,

Cause they want to charm us then.

Gullible or innocent, I am unknown,

Extirpate by the snare of the social creed.

Dogs, you do eat, do you mind? They ask,

That they may shoo Me away from their hearts.

Hindi you should learn for it will make you one only then.

Tolerance is the blend of harmonized livelihood in my land, My India.

Then why this ceremonial quest and social unrest.

I am yellow, I am an Indian,

Vande Mataram is my song

So, can you separate me from my maternal treat?

I do know my history differ,

But I have suffered my freedom bouts.

I am new, but I am one

One of you and one for all

I am proud, and I am Indian.

I will share the hill’s song

I will keep the soil for long

I am an Indian and I am spicy

Sporty and harmony is my body.

Bear me if I am loud but do hear me if I am silenced.
