There was a time, so long ago
When things were so much simpler
You reap what you sow
You reap what you sow
Remember the time, when we played all day
Remember the days when everything flew by
Oh! How could we have taken our youth for granted
Made up words we would say
Never our lips would touch a sigh
We would chase after rainbows and butterflies
We would speed through the water
And touch the skies
We would climb every mountain
We would cross every sea
Oh, everything was so evergreen
We’d hang on trees and scrap our knees
We’d come home dirty, our hair filled with leaves
We’d chase after the sun with all our might
We’d chase after that glorious light
We’d chase and chase, hoping to reach it someday
Where did that faith suddenly go away
Late at night, we stare up at the stars
The grass beneath us soft
And we’d share in midnight bliss
What we hope is true love’s kiss
Adolescence, the happy years
When we were unstoppable
Hanging with our pens
We are more than capable
