IGNORANCE – DIYA SANGEETH

Humans are ignorant?
Yes we fight and we kill for what we believe in.
Our minds are a beautiful mess.
Yet we strive to win for the ones we call our kin,
Our lovers, our friends, our family and our land.
But ignorance is not always bliss as a country great did learn.
They invited monsters with friendly faces onto their shores.
Of course India was not a paradise then.
It had too many problems that needed solving.
They naively submitted to their demise,
Not even realising that their world was falling.
The monster destroyed the land,
Made the women and children their slaves.
The people were terrorised by their hand .
Screams of pain and suffering were heard everywhere.
But all hope was not lost because there is one human quality that we forgot
That as the years passed by had become naught.
The people decided,it was time they learned that old teaching once more,
Cause despite the hardships the universe sends,
Humans don’t give up until the very end.
They took up this lesson that was passed down through generations,
Given to them as mere scraps Its ferociousness lost in time.
They made it into something great;
A new seed for a new foundation,
As they rose again.

Diya Sangeeth – The poet is just twelve years old and studying in the 7th standard. She started writing at a much younger age and quite a few poems have been born out of her pen.
